What is the Wheaton Academy Tutoring Center?

The Wheaton Academy Tutoring Center is a friendly place where elementary, middle, and high school students meet with a qualified tutor during their study hall or after school to help them become more successful and confident learners. Even though the Wheaton Academy Tutoring Center is located on Wheaton Academy’s campus, students from all area schools are welcome! We have evening and weekend hours available as well to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules.

What is the cost of tutoring sessions?

Individual Tutoring Sessions (Subject Specific) – $55 per session or $500 for a package of 10
Individual ACT/SAT Sessions – $80 per session or $750 for a package of 10

What subjects do you cover?

The Wheaton Academy Tutoring Center has tutors in almost all subject areas including English/Writing, Geometry, Algebra I and II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics, and Biology. Students can meet one-on-one with a tutor to help them in a specific subject. They can help with homework challenges, test/quiz preparation, organization/study skills, and college essays.

What about ACT and SAT Preparation?

Tutors will teach students tips and strategies for each section of the ACT or SAT. They can focus on one of these college admission tests or both of them. They will identify the students’ strengths and weaknesses and work with them to achieve their goal.

Where will my student meet with their tutor?

The Wheaton Academy Tutoring Center is located on Wheaton Academy’s campus in the Armour Building. It is the first building on the right when you enter the Prince Crossing entrance. Elementary tutors can meet with Wheaton Christian Grammar School students at WCGS after school hours. Tutors are also available to meet via Zoom, if preferred.

What about in-person sessions during COVID?

The Wheaton Academy Tutoring Center is still offering in-person sessions. To ensure the safety of all students and tutors, wearing masks is required. We take the students’ temperatures as they enter. After they leave, we sanitize the desks and door handles. Any pencils that were used are also sanitized. Tutors are also available to meet via Zoom, if preferred.

How do I sign up?
How do I cancel?

Since the tutors plan their day around their tutoring appointments, they need at least 12 hours’ notice if the student is not going to be able to come to the appointment. Click on ‘Change/Cancel Appointment’ on the email reminder and a refund will be issued. Appointments not canceled or changed 12 hours in advance will be considered a “no show”.

What is the tutor’s availability?

The Wheaton Academy Tutoring Center is open 6 days a week. (Mondays through Saturdays) The tutors’ hours vary. Their availability is listed on the website.
